Accounts for 27% & 20% of deaths in us & ca respectively: atherosclerosis: gradual narrowing of coronary arteries, usually caused by a buildup of fatty deposits on inner walls. Biological risk factors (rfs): high bp, high cholesterol, obesity. Psychological rfs: lifestyle, anxiety, depression, stress & personality. Stress, personality & illness: link bt personality & stress is complex.
