Think it promotes/encourages students to have sex. Sex ed should help people achieve positive outcomes and avoid negative ones. Skills needed to enhance sexual health and avoid negative outcomes. Safe/secure environment that promotes optimal sexual health. Some object to sex ed in schools - they feel it should be taught at home. Studies show that so far, the school its students largest source of sexuality education in gr. However, very few students are receiving information about the emotional side of sex, only technical. Must begin at a young age with small talks, simple concept first. Vast majority of parents are in favour of sex education in school. There is strong support for broad-based sexuality education in schools beginning in primary grades. Started with an attempt to reduce the number of teen pregnancies. In the 1990s focus shifted to hiv/aids and other stis. By age 7/8, children have a general understanding of reproduction: Love, marriage, sexual activity, sperm and egg.
