Gurupa, brazil 1982 isolated community, live in little shacks, no electricity or water, even the rich people only have water and electricity for a max number of hours per day. The rich people had the tv playing and the poor people stood outside the living room and watched it through the window. Time spent in front of the tv was social time (social interaction) This instrument can teach, illuminate, and yes it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends.
