Majority (nothing to do with numbers) or dominant group. Has superior resources & rights in society. Ex: there is technically more women than men but men are still more dominant. Category of people who has been singled out on the basis of subjectively selected physical characteristics such as skin colour, hair texture, eye shape. An invisible, unearned assets that act as privileges for people with certain characteristics. Ex: male/female; white/of colour; tall/short; eye colour (blue); straight/gay; age (25-55) Sending exact same resume person of colour does not get called, white does. Getting a cab more likely if you are white. Internalized dominance not one"s fault, one"s learned values & assumptions and behaviours are actively hurting others. Choice whether to struggle against racialized oppression. Not one"s fault, but one should be aware they have it. Privilege is not often recognized to it"s holder, it is just there as part of.
