Gender is not static it changes with time. There are certain norms that are attached to both men and women: men are not allowed to show their sensitive sides. The stereotypes shown do sell they do work. Girls are also valued less than boys. Every society around the world value boys more than girls we are now much more equal, although men still have the advantage. Tied in the home do more housework than men. Feminine ideal depends on the time (in history being round was more attractive: we have a feminine ideal that no woman can live up to. Creates an image of the perfect woman or man.
