Document Summary

Sample frame don"t always exist, so should create. Entire process of sampling done in single step with each subs. Need 2 essential prerequisites to implement simple random technique: population must be homogenous and researcher must have list of elements/members of accessible population. First step is to identify accessible population and prep list of all elements/members of population. Frame and sample drawn from sampling frame by using: Sample should be 1/10 of population up to 1500 people. Can"t use any info we know in simple sample (ex: more girls, more freshmen ) Have a list of everyone in population. Sampling frame cannot have any pattern (can"t be grouped) Sample in strata selected by using simple random sample. Proportionate: proportionate to your sample: best technique if we can do it. Disproportionate: diff proportionate in sample than population. Happens when they want to give equal weight. Easier, but doesn"t yield as low sampling error.
