Typically what we think of when we think of family abuse. Often the only thing that we count. The physical violence is easier to get over than the psychological and emotional abuse. 15 years ago, men were allowed to be charged w/ raping their wives. Most domestic violence is men against women. Being a victim of family violence doesn"t discriminate. Stealing valuables, forcing/denying her to go to work. Following the person, watching them, getting into their social media. Violence is about power and control over another person. In the middle ages wives could be burned at the stake for committing adultery, talking back, etc. Throughout history, violence against women has been approved and sanctioned in various ways. Its only become unapproved over the past 100 years. Rule of thumb a man can hit his wife and children with a stick as long as it wasn"t thicker than his thumb.
