Battered and bloodied, she managed to get up and stagger across the bridge towards bus to make her way home: they found her and dragged her back and beat her again. 6 youth charged and convicted of aggravated assault; 2 tried for second degree murder. 7 of the 8 beaters = female. Lead to a construction of the criminalized youth. Highly sensationalized, horrific events impression not only that more girls are involved in crime today, but that young females have become increasingly violent.
