Assist newcomers with transitioning to full employment: assisting in overcoming barriers. Challenge: some clients have more challenges to employment than others: non-transferrable credentials. Families do what they need to do to get by: self-employment to off-set the costs, this ofte(cid:374) is(cid:374)(cid:859)t i(cid:374)(cid:272)luded i(cid:374) our ta(cid:454) s(cid:455)ste(cid:373) I. e. , barber shop in their living room, nannying, etc. Support people who are running small businesses out of their homes/may be interested in started their own business. New potential program: support growing existing businesses, formalizing existing businesses, potentially starting a new one. Creating a brand new program: 100 staff at cclc, understaffed, under-resourced, do(cid:374)(cid:859)t ha(cid:448)e the ti(cid:373)e/(cid:373)o(cid:374)e(cid:455) to create new program, designing a new program to help new businesses with micro-loans. Once a month class/workshop for people to come to: series of classes where a different issue is addressed each class, the (cid:858)pla(cid:374)(cid:859) is (cid:449)orked through (cid:271)(cid:455) the e(cid:374)d of the series of (cid:449)orkshops.
