Conditions as motivations: responding to opposition movements, threats to individual/group values, time constraints for political change, technological advances & strategic innovation ex: august 1972 ira & the one-shot sniper) Benefit calculations: belief that other methods do not work, efficient targeting & execution" in terrorist organizations can advance public agenda for political change, hostage taking for bargaining. Terrorism, as rational choice , has a study-able logic. People get involved in terrorist organizations since terrorist organizations are collective groups.
