Widely understood throughout both western and eastern religions: root of all conflict is inequality, a peaceful world is one where people can live and work together in harmony and friendship. Johan galtung: negative peace: absence of direct and organized violence between human groups, positive peace: eradication of the root causes of conflict. Enjoyment of the full range of human rights: positive peace cannot exist without negative peace, direct violence: Direct and indirect go hand in hand. It can be seen who does it and who suffers: indirect/structural violence: Behind the scenes construction to make sure that not everyone is actually equal. Cannot actualize what a human being should fully actualize. A reduction of the quality of life. Definition: an institution drawing membership from at least three states, having activities in several states, and whose members are held together by a formal agreement.
