KP161 Lecture Notes - Lecture 21: Proprioception
Document Summary
Caused by forgetting not capability learner forgets what to do in given situations. Throughout a rehearsal, one dancer is consistently out of sync with the rest of the dancers. Reason 1: may not know what auditory cues to listen to. Reason 2: may be relying on visual cues and imitation. Solution: teach them to pay attention to verbal cues. Selection of appropriate responses but not executed correctly. Reasons: insufficient practice or movement performed too quickly. Errors in neuromuscular coordination learner not practiced enough. Distinction b/w what one knows and can do. Sometimes learner does not possess underlying abilities for skill proficiency learner may lack physical prerequisites learner may replace established movement with new one = negative transfer learner makes automatic task conscious (walking to class) Temporal accuracy: speeding up movement reduce errors. Advantage lost if opponent guesses right about your movement. Visual errors result from visual demands exceeding what is physically possible.
