Vision is our preferred source of sensory info. Trumps in brain disorder and trumps all sources of other info. Evidence from everyday experiences: beginning typists look at their fingers, beginning dancers look at their feet. Moving room experiment lee and aronson 1974. Built a fake wall and carpet to make it look like it is a real room. Walls are put on rollers on a track baby does not know that. Movements in the room for an adult do not cause them to fall over. When they are given a task like balancing on a beam or when they are asked to close their eyes, they will lose their balance. Infants stood in a room which the walls moved toward or away from them but the floor did not move. This is a visual system specified self-movement. Vestibular and somatosensory system specified no movement.
