When we start to lose some of our other senses, our vision kicks in: we rely on vision rather than anything else. You could be talking to a group of people and have your hands in your pockets looking for change multi-tasking. Sensory info is essential in all theories of motor control and learning: provides pre-movement info have to decide how far we"re going to move the limb or our bodies. Ex: think of a gun going off in a race: provides feedback about the movement in progress, provides post-movement info about action goal achievement the fact that you get to evaluate what you did. Ex: if you throw a dart and keep missing the target by 20cm, the post-movement info allows you to correct yourself. Focus of current chapter is three types of sensory info: touch (tactile), vision and proprioception, *also have a vestibular system*
