More similar patterns among identical twins (lark: fast increase in body temperature; owl: slow increase in body temperature) Long and short sleepers (average requires 6. 5 hours, 6-10) Short-term (up to 45 hours without sleep) Partial (no more than 5 hours/night for one or more consecutive nights) Followed by decrements in cognitive and physical performance. Do not make up all sleep time lost. Can"t get to sleep, wake too quickly/easily. Suddenly fall asleep/often rem/often at exciting times . Micronaps: few second sleep with your eyes open when they glaze over and you are not paying attention (ex in the car, in conversation, etc) Can start as young as 3 and go until about 5 or 7. Wake up in a state of panic.
