1. 1: the drug problem : recreational use of psychoactive drugs has two basic outcomes: I completely agree that peer pressure is a large part of the reason why people use psychoactive drugs. Like you said, our relationships are very influential, and individuals may feel like they need to do certain drugs to fit in with their group and gain a bond with others. As young adults, i feel as though this position is extremely relevant in the way we are constantly bombarded with the pressures to fit into mainstream media where drugs are often glorified and promoted. In this way, media pressures individuals to fit into the cool crowd . A long-time friend of mine started getting into drugs when he started university. His parents worked 24/7 and gave him an excessive allowance. Out of sheer boredom, he started lying to his parents and using his expendable income to buy marijuana.
