Prejudice= affective attitude: a negative attitude toward members of a group based on their membership in that group. Discrimination= behaviour: is an attitude, evaluative judgement, liking/ disliking, negative behaviours directed toward members of a group based on their membership in that group, treating people differently because they belong to a specific. Overt expressions of prejudice have decreased: being openly prejudiced has decreased, when hooked up to lie detector people will admit to prejudice, Subtle prejudice when not hooked up they hide prejudice. Automatic prejudice: modern racism or cultural racism , prejudice can occur outside of people"s awareness. Though we aren"t being overtly prejudice/ discriminative it still is by not paying women the same amount: assertive behaviour are less accepted when done by girls than when done by boys. Women seen as bossy and men seen as assertive. Tokenism: there"s only one or two positions that are token positions that are given to women.
