Good is meaningless unless you have something bad to compare it with. The religious tradition that developed in israel/palestine. Representation of god = all good; all powerful; omnipotent. God creates temptation to allow" humans to make the choice- this is the idea of free will. Evil/sin is disobeying god/ going against gods will. (god sees free will as a choice. ) In the old testament the snake in the goe is not satan. Emergence of satan (who was part of gods council) Job is a man who is very faithful to god; satan tests this by taking away all that is good(job), to test his faith. Moral: one should be faithful even when one is suffering, because god is all good; Satan is there to test faith, and add temptation. (acc. to old testament) Lucifer: prideful and did not want to honour humanity as gods creation. He rebels and is forced to live among humans.
