Document Summary

Good is meaningless unless there exists an evil to compare it to. Judaism and the land of israel are considered origins of religion/evil. The hebrew bible / old testament are the origin of god and his creations. Adam and eve were presented with a choice to allow the snake to convince them to eat the apple from the tree. This represents the choice that god gives us to follow him or go against his will (evil). Satan only appears in judaism in the book of job, and plays a role by tempting job with evil. Job is a religious follower of god, a very good and successful person; a role model for society. Satan enters job"s life and wreaks havoc, offering plagues to his family, killing his cattle, and making job himself suffer physically, and mentally question his commitment to god. Why are you doing this to me? - job.
