I want to be honest and say that i did not get a chance to attend a religious setting so i am using a past experience. In march 2014, i attended catholic church masses two to three times a day, for a month with my family in mangagoy, philippines. I do not consider myself catholic or religious, as i did not grow up attending church or learning about the bible. I can say that the experience was very memorable, although the services were not in my language the entire time, my mother, aunts or lola (grandmother) would try to fill me in, as the priest would speak. The objective of this study was to observe the physical presence, function and authority of a religious text, in my case that would be the catholic bible. Although the core text was the bible there were also other types of religious texts found such as pamphlets and bulletin boards.
