In this paper, i will discuss the meaning of moral courage and discuss how to promote reconciliation. Moral courage is defined as taking courage towards an action for moral reasons despite the consequences. Courage, strength and bravery is require to take these actions when one has doubt about the consequences. Moral courage is needed to promote reconciliation with the aboriginal culture and make sure what happened to them does not occur again. Indigenous people were portrayed as undomesticated individuals, who had an illegal lifestyle. Their children were forced to attend residential schools, and were forced to convert to christianity. The schools were designed to isolate the children from the influence of their homes, religion, culture, and families to integrate them into the dominant culture. These objectives were based on the assumptions that the. Aboriginal culture and the spiritual beliefs they hold were subordinate and unequal.
