Document Summary
Needs analysis is a process designed to identify gaps or deficiencies in employee and organizational performance. It is concerned with the gaps between actual and desired performance. A need is a gap between current and desired results. It identifies, prioritizes, and selects needs that will affect internal and external stakeholders. Helps identify causes and solutions to performance problems. Three levels of needs analysis: an organizational analysis, a task analysis, and a person analysis. Step two: importance: whether the concern is central to the effectiveness of the organization. Step three: consult stakeholders: support from key players in the organization is necessary from the beginning of the needs analysis process. Organizational analysis involves the study of the entire organization: its strategy, environment, resources, and context. Key to an organizational analysis is finding out if a training program is aligned with an o(cid:396)ga(cid:374)izatio(cid:374)"s strategy, the existence of any constraints, and the extent of support for the delivery and success of a training program.
