Disadvantages: colder climate inhospitable harsher environment, muscle power labour intensive for farming, advances may be leading to a depletion of resources. Myth- people in the developing world are not changing. Actually undergoing rapid and chaotic social change: becoming more urbanized, reducing death rates, transforming production. But overall, livelihoods and quality of life are not improving (hunger and poverty continue to impact these parts of the world)
