Third gender, samoan culture doesn"t necessarily have he/she pronouns. Age of 3-4 boys and girls start to assume different responsibility. Boys are given more free time to play. By 14 or 15 boys are entered into the society of untitled males (aumaga) Boys engage in sexual acts with each other, as a form of playing. Expected to have sex with many different women as a sign of their vitality and masculinity. In the manner of a woman, biological males who express female identities, do not identify as male or female, society identifies them as a whole. Not homosexual because there is no samoan word for it. Not transsexual as they don"t see themselves as wanting to be the other gender. Identified by their task preference at a young age. Depend on their family to provide for them even into old age.
