Document Summary

A1: science is a process because is not a linear method. It is a process for understanding the natural world using critical thinking. It"s al(cid:449)ays ongoing and has no set conclusion as new questions are raised after ones have been answered. In other words, science is iterative, tentative and dynamic. A scientific argument involves; scientific idea, expectations, and observations; all based on logical reasoning. Thus, a scientific fact is a well-confirmed observation. A2: hypothesis: in everyday language, the word hypothesis usually refers to an educated guess or an idea that we are quite uncertain about. Scientific hypotheses, however, are much more informed than any guess and are usually based on prior experience, scientific background knowledge, preliminary observations, and logic. In addition, hypotheses are often supported by many different lines of evidence in which case, scientists are more confident in them than they would be in any mere "guess. "
