Champs: allergic cd is genetic predisposition, work with water or exposure to irritant substance, certain jobs: metal workers, construction, hairdressers, cosmetologist, healthcare, gardeners, agricultural, mechanism. Exposure to metal salts, dust or fumes results in irritant cd. Cosmetics, chemicals, textile dyes, outdoor or indoor plants. Toxicodendron (rhus aka poison ivy) cause allergic cd. Latex causes ige-mediated skin reaction, respiratory symptoms, anaphylaxis: metals- nickel, gold, palladium, cobalt, titanium allergy causes cutaneous & systemic rxn. Surfactants like alkyl glucosides in products like moisturizes, sunscreens. Topical antihistamines cause cd- doxepin cream, diphenhydramine, prmethazine. Topical antibiotics - gentamicin, penicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamides: drug induced dermatitis: antibiotics phenothiazines, ester group of anesthetics, beta-blockers: metoprolol, propranolol, timolol, diuretics: thiazide diuretics, preservatives cause allergic cd- parabens, formaldehyde, methylisothiazolinone (baby wipes) Signs & symptoms - (pqrst)2: aggravating factors are allergens & irritants.
