Most significant source of danger to women are not strangers but rather people they know like friends, and family. Sexual assaults are more likely to be committed by an acquaintance date or friend or family member rather than a stranger they often occur in private places like the victims or offenders home. 85% of sexual assaults reported are acquaintance rape and only 15% are stranger rapes.
