The commentary presented below consists of a brief interpretation on each dance performed in the york dance ensemble the space between- an installation incubator project 2017. The ensemble included a total of seven installations located throughout the second floor of accolade. The ensemble was a multidisciplinary performance featuring styles of theatre, computational arts and departments of dance that explored into technology, movement, sound, and design. Each performance itself was 15 minutes or less and enacted in rotation four times back-to-back in each installation. The show was created by professors susan cash, gwenyth. Dobie, susan lee, william mackwood, doug van nort and don sinclair with a combination of students in the york dance ensemble and the digital media program. The first performance piece was the birds or murmuration , which featured a technological projection and showcased the theme of patience, strength of character, humility, wisdom, tolerance, courage and generosity.
