Ability to send voice communications over the air from one point to another. After the war, us thought radio was too dangerous to let the whole world use. Amateur and commercial broadcasters compete for control of the airways in 1920s. Radio was used to advertise and for commercials. Chapter in tv reader on the test. The idea that government should regulated the behaviour of individuals and institutions such as corporations. Established a radio system that made sure radio as dominated by a small number of powerful radio corporation. Two big radio corporations: rca (mbc) and wresting house (cdf) Initial cost of tv was much more than film, but these radio corporations were rich and gave money to sponsor tv.
