So baby mamas were happy to just give it up bc so easily getting pregnant after war and mother who couldn"t get pregnant were happy to take the babies to feel fulfilled. Sixties scoop: removal of aboriginal children from their homes adopting out to white hopes. Indigenous into white homes experienced racism and cultural dislocation. Could adopt an interracial child and less likely that that kid will have behavioural problems. Race no longer as inferior bc civil rights movement, ww2. Who: children with intellectual disabilities and the national association for retarded children. What: reducing the stigma about children with mental disabilities and working to integrated them into society. Thesis: how the social construction of mental retardation changed after ww2.
