In fact, events took place in europe which changed shit. Canada at war: mackenzie king, prime minister (1935- First challenge they faced was how to mobilize the economy. Managing the economy europe in 1939: what it looked like in the eve of ww2. Look what happened in less than a couple of weeks. It lost: half of its territory was occupied by germany, britian was left to defend itself, by june 1940, things not looking good for britian.
