Lynching: to put to death, especially by hanging, by mob action and without legal authority. Murder of mary phagan, age 13 at the national factory (atanata georgia) april 27th 1913. Appealed to georgia supreme court argyueing that jurors were prejudiced/ 4-2 against frank. Court states that judges actions were appropriate and reject defence argument on three important points about the jury. Request for a new trial based on new evidence. Defence has new evidence about jim conley.
