Family is conservative institution that is somewhat artificial at times but has set rules, roles, responsibilities and, rights. This particular institution has done a disservice. Children and their location in families is not a pretty picture. Family is the most violent institution for crime and violence. We don"t hear of it and conservatives won"t speak of it, family is on pedestal. Not a place of refuge for women and children historical and currently. More murders in family than anywhere else (serial killers and mass murderers don"t compare). Family as institution has license to do as it pleases especially the authority structures in the family. Family as institution not loving place that has roles and rules that are static and don"t say much of children and women.
