Introduction: the trojans are disorganized in book 6 and 7. Combat between hektor and ajax which ended in a draw: we saw a truce at the end of book 7 after the battle, hector relating with everyone. He is central to everything at troy: book 6 is a relief from the brutal combat, gloucos and diomedes exchanging armour. Hektor & achilles: they are the two central gures on either side, hektor is a mortal man, achilles has one foot set into the divine world, hektor is a good son, husband, father. Making good rational decisions: hektor is ghting to protect a city, achilles is destroying cities, hektor is embedded in the city, achilles is on the end of the world. Book 8: book 8 opens with zeus being angry. Monday, october 31, 2016: agamemnon is no longer proud and overbearing and greedy. He could not admit that he was wrong.
