Achilles" dilemma: achilles dilemma is if he should fight in the war or not and if he should accept. Agamemnon"s offer: either he lives a short life, but a glorious one, or whether he should go back to his homeland, and live a long inglorious life. Achilles" revenge: agamemnon offers achilles unlimited ransom (apereisa apoins) and generous gifts. If he accepts these gifts he must also treat the other with respect and follow anything he says: agamemnon is not only going to give back his prize of honour but also tremendous wealth. In total, agamemnon is not offering what achilles wants and needs to bring him back into the battle field. In a way, he is stalling because he knows that achilles still wants his prize of honor back: achilles says that he has been treated exactly the way that a weakling would have been treated.
