5th century bc is when greek drama began. There were about 12-15 people in a chorus, they would set the tone of the play and add to the dialogue. Theater was a joyous and exciting thing to witness, many people came to view dramas. Skene tent was usually decorated as a palace or temple behind the stage. Epeisodion: scene of characters and chorus talk. Stasimon: choral ode that the chorus sings while dancing. Exodos: departure of the chorus at the conclusion. Tragos means goat, oidos means song, so it basically means goat song or goat ode (the actors wore goat skins) (33 tragedies have survived to modern day) Comedy: funny plays not based from myth (11 surviving) Satyr plays: funny plays based on myth (1 survived) Women did not act in plays, men wore wigs and makeup to look like women on stage. They also wore platform shoes so everyone could see them in the audience.
