The white rabbit was professor white, the next door neighbour who emily refers to as the white rabbit: alice is a young woman who falls into a weird world and meets the white rabbit; While the world is strange that alice is going into, it has strict norms that are being critiqued. Emily on the other hand, is moving into a world in decay so alice"s norms don"t work for her; she has to nd her own norms. Reading involves re ection, slowing ourselves down enough as readers enough that we enjoy the book if we like it or get through the book if we don"t, and let patterns emerge. Fahrenheit 451 comes from the degree of heat required to burn paper. Book burning; why do we burn books: sometimes they are the collateral damage of war.
