KINE 2031 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Fallopian Tube, Blood Vessel, Urethra
Document Summary
Sagittal plane: right and left of the body. Proximal (closer to the main truck), distal (away) Superior (closer to the head), inferior ( closer to the toe) Hand: dorsal (back of the hand), palmar (palm) Secrete endocrine and exocrine: both derive from epithelial. Endocrine: no duct: relies on the circulatory system to move. Cornea: various layers of epithelium, it is the outer most layer of the cornea. Basement membrane: in between connective tissue and epithelium tissue: anchor and stick together the epithelium to the connective tissue. Epithelial does not have its own blood supply so it must get it from below from the blood vessel that is on the connective tissue. Three shapes: squamous: thin and flat, cuboidal: cube, columnar: column. Layer: simple: one layer, stratified: a lot of layers. Simple: simple squamous: one layer tick and flat (alveoli of the lungs, simple cuboid: thicker and one layer (tubules of nephron)
