Document Summary

Anterior section has 3 layers, posterior 2 layers! Superficial or 1st layer all have the common origin of the medial epicondyle of the humerus (test). They pass across the elbow so they are agonists and support its flexion. They run down to hand and fingers and affect movement of wrist and fingers. Flexor carpi radialis (imagine and visualize it). It flexes the elbow and wrist and is an abductor (for wrist). Same as above goes down medial side to carpals on the medial side and it crosses the elbow so does flexion of wrist and adduction of it. Same except, digitorum means goes to your digits on hand and is superficialis so there is a (deep) profundus, which makes sense cause you need 2 strong muscles for finger flexion which is a powerful activity. The palmaris longus, has co (common origin) medial epicondyle of humerus, goes to palm, flexes elbow and wrist.
