Technology engages each and every one of us: ex; piano - see above. Manufactured - doesn"t have to be in a factory. Useful - to accomplish something and caught in a web of production: ex; grass is manufactured, we choose where it"s grown, not only is grass produced, it is also a producer, ex; artificial forests. What isn"t technology: technology vs nature, technology vs social, love. Looks in terms of technology as something that can fit or slip out of that opposition, we can move some way towards what technology is and what it means. What determines the definition of technology depends on context of what we consider the natural world and the social world. People have been debating its definition and relation to society since the 17th century - What is its value: progress - technology has been seen since the 17th century as a means of advancing human society.
