It is important for a country to protect their citizens by ensuring that they are satisfied and comfortable with the environment around them. The american system of manufacturing (asm) began in the united states as they provided a positive, reliable, and resourceful environment. Due to the increase in population, america"s economy drastically increased, leading to high demand and great developments such as, the growth in a high rate of household construction. As the market grew in terms of development, it gave producers and consumers an opportunity to interact amongst each other and form a stronger relationship allowing more adaptation for new systems, economic improvements, and technologies. America as the public is focused in new developments and innovations; it allows immigrants to establish new ideas and strategies to help in the progression of the country. As rosenberg mentions, americans had a strong incentive to develop and adopt new technologies (rosenberg, p. 109).
