Effective leadership is dependent on matching traits/background, behaviours/style with contextual factors inside and outside the organization/team that produces the outcomes required (ie. there is no universal leadership approach) Ron osborne drew upon the wrong leadership traits and style for the opg context and the outcomes it needed to improve. There is not one set of traits that makes someone a great leader, it all depends on the situation the leader is in. Promoted to leader roles because of good analytical and technical results. The skills that made you successful are the very same skills that will cause you to fail as a leader. Job satisfaction is not based on your results but the results of others. Analytical and technical skills not relevant next to working with people. Quick fixes don"t work because you"re developing people. A team consists of two or more people who work interdependently over some time period to accomplish common goals related to some task-oriented purpose.
