Strategic design in a company has a value position or distinctive competitive edge. A key strategic design question, which activities should be inside and organization and which outside? ex: what should they produce within the company and what should they purchase from vendors make or buy issues. Sees information as a key to the organization. It sees how to effectively use and distribute the right information to the right people in order to be the most effective and productive. Tasks differ in strategic design by complexity, level of routinization and level of interdependence: 3 types of interdependence: sequential, pooled and reciprocal. This includes identifying how many groups are needs and based on what criteria are they put in a group etc. to be most effective.
