Its not just that happiness and immorality can go hand in hand; doing the wrong thing is a way to maximize your individual happiness. In the text, case of joan and kate- two student"s who were studying to be professors; both got job offers from the same school. Were both told that they"ll give them the job if they pass all the football players. Joan didn"t get any jobs in academia, wasn"t able to fulfill any of her goals/dreams, ended up being sad, etc. Kate took the job, got a better job, became famous, wonderful and happy. Kate, by doing this wrong thing made herself happier. And joan, by doing the right thing, made herself worse. If i"m an immoral person and everyone knows it, than that"s a pretty bad situation to be in.
