If empiricism is true, then innatism is false: descartes believes we come down with innate ides as soon as we are born on earth, the mind and body are different, you cannot stop thinking. Senses get in the way of thinking/true knowledge. Only way you know reality is through thinking: locke fi(cid:374)ds hi(cid:373)self to (cid:271)e (cid:858)gar(cid:271)age (cid:373)a(cid:374)(cid:859) to re(cid:373)o(cid:448)e anything such as pseudoscience that gets in the way of philosophy (2-3, l. wittgenstein, book 1, chapter 1 (intro): (1) try to look at own self cognitive powers, using your mind to study it, designs of an instrument. (2) wanting to know human knowledge, looking at the cognitive build of mind (mind body separation). (4) once you know the extent of human knowledge, you cannot do anything but sit in ignorance, and that we have limits, but nobody knows what that limit is.
