It begins as an aristocracy and slowly becomes a democracy slowly. Polis more correct and clear understanding of a city state. Athens was not like a city, and it was much more than a state. Athens will provide the western world with philosophy, democracy, architecture, drama (the tragedians), and the attributions of. Reasons: geographic situated in a really great place- navigation, commerce, trade, war- the athenians were interactive with other civilizations.
