Looks at overt behaviours (observable) and determines the antecedents (something that comes before) and the consequences -> learning. Learning: a relatively durable change in behaviour that occurs as a result of practise or experience. If you are learning something you are learning something you did not know before, however memories fade overtime. Some behaviours are instinctual and not learned (built into species) not. Not interchangeable and not exactly the same thing. 3 types of learning: classical conditioning - pavlov. Most basic type of learning - involuntary.
