Social motives: achievements, affiliation/ intimacy, need for power, a) definition of motivation. What"s really important to you: motives are needs, wants, interests, motives propel people in certain directions, model of motivation. ****check page 438: achievement behaviour in specific situation***: maslow"s model. Physiological needs: hunger, thirst and so forth . Safety and security needs: long term survival and stability in a warzone all you think about is how to survive. Safety is subjective: people may feel safe in the ghetto or may not. Need bonds that help you feel connected and loved. Nobody wants to be in a critical environment. People need to have someone look at what they"re doing and say this is good stuff. We all want things around to be in order and to be beautiful. We want to be all that we can be. What about needs for autonomy: what is it you as a person want, you need to be in control of what you want.
