Experimental control - diff threats to validity - internal (something wrong with the design) and external (what we can learn from the real world) Order effects - a special concern - when same people are in the 2 diff conditions; practice and fatigue. Overly simplifies what is going on takes something complex and simplifies them to a number and we lose a really important meaning. Doesn"t represent the real-world - over all. Focus on the meaning that things have for other people. Try to involve participants in the research process (not always the case) Too messy, to scientific - there is no one way of doing things. Everything has diff strengths and weaknesses, and they are complementary. Sources of qualitative data - just not a number. Kinds of qualitative data - categorize them into different kinds and categories. Strength: i might have a unique question, so i need to ask specific questions. Best suited for certain kinds of questions.
