a. Fixation occurs at this level of development from either over
gratification or under gratification (frustration) of the oral
needs resulting in an adult with oral character.
i. Oral-incorporative character develops when Fixation
occurs during the early part of the oral stage.
1. A person with Oral-incorporative tends to be a
good listener and an excessive eater, drinker,
kisser, or smoker; he or she also tends to be
dependent and gullible.
ii. An oral-sadistic character develops when a fixation
occurs during the latter part of the oral stage, when
teeth begin to appear.
1. Such a person is sarcastic, cynical, and
generally aggressive.
b. The Anal Stage 2 – 4 yrs, and the erogenous zone is the anus-
buttocks region of the body.

c. An anal-expulsive character tends to be generous, messy, or
wasteful.
